Second Stage Of Labour

By clickforhowto

Quite often expectant fathers get bent out of shape over what they should be doing during the pregnancy. The pregnant woman is often the focus of all attention. She’s the one carrying the baby. She’s the one doctors examine. She’s the one with oodles of books written especially for her. She’s the one who has to push when the time comes and they put the baby on her belly when it is delivered. So, the question is: Are you only along for the ride? Yes, you really are only along for the ride.

There are many things you can do to increase your chances of an empowering childbirth experience. These are the things I did:

•  Pregnancy yoga classes
•  Regular Chiropractic care
•  Chose a Midwife instead of a doctor
•  Hired a doula to be with me through the labor and birth

Many people seriously under estimate the time and hassle involved in running a part time business, for those who have the financial resources to invest in property on a full time basis this of course does not apply, but for most of us starting out in property, we will be juggling a full time job along with family and other commitments in addition to property investing.

The enjoyment here comes from the promise and the possibility of what’s initially been discovered, and knowing that a great surge of creativity and development is imminent.

Baby chair/Bouncer

Choose one that supports the baby’s head if you plan to use this from birth. Your baby will love to see what’s going on but you shouldn’t put the chair or bouncer on a raised surface. The arrival of your first child is a magical time and preparation for this special time can lead you to ’spoil’ your child before it is born by buying loads of clothing and equipment. Your baby will grow out of its’ clothing after 3-4 months and it won’t really ever get the clothes that dirty.

Adrenaline slows and disrupts (and can even put a brake on) the sequence of natural body chemicals necessary for a smooth delivery and bonding between mother and child. Any issues of fear around the birth (experienced by either partner) need to be addressed well before time. The doctor, midwife or support per-son that you choose should be trained to help keep you calm and focused “inward” if you should be-come agitated or afraid.

Practise focusing on your breathing throughout your pregnancy; both you and your baby will benefit. You’ll find that you will be more relaxed and calm and once you go into labour you’ll be well practised at breathing correctly.

During the labour and the ‘crowning’ of your baby, you’re likely to feel the whole region as being very warm and expansive. Your bones, joints and muscles in and around your pelvis are making way for your baby and they’ve had nine months to prepare so are more than capable of doing this job. You won’t be the first or last woman to think you’re going to explode during childbirth as your body shifts and changes. But as far as I’m aware no woman has exploded yet!
